Story:
Since moving to San Francisco I've struggled to figure out how best to represent this wonderful city on a map! Navigating the ups and downs of the hills is part of daily life that affects walking, biking, and trying not to puke in a late-night Lyft ride. Not to mention the views! How many amazing views are there in SF?! So I decided to map the buildings of SF using their highest elevation point for the color. This allows the hills to be defined as well as the high rises in downtown.
Color:
I offer this map in a few color schemes that I think aptly represent the feelings of the City, contact me if you have a specific idea for a color scheme you'd like to see.
Size:
I want each building to be defined and visible, so this map is only available in 36x36. This size accounts for a 1 inch border around each map.
Note on the Process:
This is a digitally made GIS-map using data from the City of San Francisco. Each map is locally printed using archival toner ink on 10 mil ultra-smooth matte poster paper, which produces a brighter color and smoother texture.
Shipping:
I hand-check each map for flaws and will personally package and ship with shipping insurance within 1 week of ordering (please allow additional time for custom color scheme requests).
